Does it even matter anymore? If the club does make the playoffs they will only get bounced again early as long as Marsch is coach.
Yea this. I don't see any reason to be excited about the rest of the season. We are going to make the playoffs and we are going to get bounced early. We all already know how this season plays out...

--------Veron
----------Keita
Etienne------Royer
---------Adams
Kemar--DP--Long--Escobar--Muyl
------------Robles
Subs: Duka for Royer, Bezencourt for Keita. Don't even bother bringing Sacha or Zizzo to Columbus.

Not happening, but I'd like to see:
BWP
Veron - DAVIS - Etienne
Adams - Felipe
Lawrence - Long - Escobar - Murillo
Keita first off the bench.
Back to the 4-2-3-1. Or push Veron & Etienne up and play a 4-3-3.
Give Davis a run out in Sacha's spot. At this point I think he holds the ball better than Sacha and definitely is more willing to unleash a shot. I know I was in the minority, but I liked how we looked with Davis, Veron, and Etienne in the attack against Philly - they were at least fun to watch.
Adams in a Kante role where he just plays everywhere basically. Felipe as a stay at home CDM.

Obviously not for this game, but I would really like to see this lineup. There is no reason that Felipe HAS to start.

-------Davis Adams

After watching Adams play last night, it feels like we are wasting him playing him at wingback. I agree, I think he should be played in a two man deep lying midfield. My concern with playing him next to Davis is that with all the running around that Adams does, we probably need more of a true #6 there. Probably has to be Felipe, too bad there isn't another option on the roster...

Why do we think the 4-2-3-1 is now the better option again? We tried the 4-2-3-1 a bunch earlier this season, it went way worse than the current formation.

Current formation works great with Royer in there. Without him, meh at best.

I don't even care, anymore.
Just don't lose to Chicago, or NYCFC in the playoffs....

We don't have to play the exact same formation every single game. It is nice to have a default formation/lineup for when everyone is healthy. But sometimes you need to change due to injuries / squad rotation. For some reason Marsch refuses to change his formation depending on the available players. Then he ends up forcing players to play out of position. There is no need to force guys like Zizzo and Lade to play as CBs in a back 3 when we could just go with a back 4 and avoid that.

True, the 4-2-3-1 wasn't great early. You have to remember Muyl or Grella were on at least one of the wings then, sometimes both, and to say this two have struggled offensively this season is being kind. The only reason I'd want to switch the formation is to put Adams back in the middle of the pitch. He looked like our best player last night and it seems like a waste to tie him down at wingback as he has been, until last night, in the current formation. I want to put in the middle, next to a #6 that's going to stay home to protect the backline, and let him run wherever he needs to to make a play.

Yep.

Let Adams play the Jermaine Jones Advance Destroyer role. Or free range 8 and put Davis up front
Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

I agree with others that Adams is being wasted as a wingback. He is clearly one of the best players on this team and needs to be playing centrally. Attacking or defensive? He can do both well.
Another idea...
