"NYCFC and Concacaf today announced that the Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League (SCCL) Round of 16 home leg against A.D. San Carlos on February 26 at 6 p.m. will be played at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.

Given the inconvenience of playing outside of the five boroughs, tickets will be free to all 2020 City Members. Members will receive a complimentary ticket for every full season seat on their account."

Will RBNY respond to that five boroughs dig?

The South Ward, home of Empire Supporters Club and Viking Army, will not be open for the match.

That's good. They also said if they advance Yankee stadium or citi field should be available pending concacaf approval.

They're both available now, CONCACAF just didn't approve either.  Why would CONCACAF approve it for the next round?  Maybe there just wasn't enough time for this round, but, if they advance, I would think their opponent would protest playing at Yankee Stadium or Citi Field.

Gotcha, "winterization" wasn't in the article I read.

Where do you see this? I just emailed my rep and said i'm cancelling my tickets if they open the south ward, or if there's NYCFC shit all over the building. Everyone should do the same, let them know that this is not OK.

Sounds like we're charging them less than they pay to use Yankee Stadium. What a joke.
Frankly, since I am merely a fan and a not a fancy American soccer writer, I'm going to congratulate Wright-Phillips on a well hit goal. If I was an American soccer writer, I'd claim that the recently retired Henry was wearing an invisibility cloak and carried the ball into the net for the obviously unskilled Wright-Phillips.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Might set the wrong precedent. If those tools dont ever build a stadium, they will end up sharing RBA with us ala Inter Milan and AC Milan (especially once the naming rights are sold if true). That would make the MLS a complete joke. They ignored all the signs and allowed NYCFC ownership to have a team without a glimmer of hope to build a stadium. If it was that simple to build a stadium in the five boroughs, RedBull would have done it already.

It is truly a shame how the two MLS franchises in the NY metro area operate. The LA Derby has taken all the buzz away from a proper intercity rivalry and we had a couple of years ahead of them. Truly a shame....

NYT claiming stadium in a location close to Yankee Stadium is getting closer and closer. Even if does come through, won't be finished until 2024 at the earliest.

It's probably astronomically expensive to open up Yankee Stadium and relative to that, its probably less to open up red bull arena even with price gouging them.

Given that they pay a million bucks a game to rent YS that would be a pretty safe assumption.
Let's Go Buffalo!!!
