iirc, he's on 200k/400k. wouldn't be surprised if he's now 400k/500k. happy for him, no doubt.
owners should allow TAM to be used to retain players on the roster rather than just being allowed to use it to bring in players from outside the league.

We should be (but it's MLS, who the fuck knows) getting GAM for selling Adams to Leipzig, so I wonder if we're considering using Adams money to buy Kemar back down like from $400k to $250k or something. Whatever, MLS funny money. I wish they'd just go to a league cap of $X and club allowed to spend over that, eliminating the silly roster shenanigans it takes to get GAM/TAM/etc. to make sense.

Our best left back ever? Glad to see him staying bit longer with us.

LB is the toughest position to lock down in most leagues, when you get a good one you have to hold onto him. Nice job by Armas & co. to recognize that and throw him the necessary cash. Think Marsch woulda let him walk.

The big players that left under Marsch were Miazga, Dax, Sacha, & Felipe. Miazga really wanted Europe and was sold for $5 million (iirc), Dax and Sacha were old, and Felipe brought back Parker. Marsch never let any real impactful player just walk.Think Marsch woulda let him walk.

Yeah the entire reason he and Curtis were so ruthless trading away fan favorites was to avoid letting players walk. There's still a chance they'll sell Kemar, but at least now we'll be compensated for it.

Not sure why Kemar would agree to that if he was looking to leave this year.

I think Taxi's interest from abroad weakened a bit. On top of the Jamaica not being ranked high enough, Taxi is 26 now and plays a position that isn't going to get as much interest from these other teams who have X amount of foreign openings. If they are going foreign, they are going to go for a position that has a bigger impact.
Long term, I'm a huge fan of Taxi. He's a great guy, is captain material, and he's good enough and has the skillset to transition to CB down the road when his mobility drops a bit.

Sorry didn't mean that they'd sell him now, I meant just at some point.

I hope he stays and has a long and successful career here. But, would not be surprised to see him move.
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

He's already 26, and he's largely dependent n his speed, so this would be the window if he was going anywhere.

Higher salary + insurance in case visa issues preclude him from going where he'd like to?
Sure, if he were a free agent, it'd be easier for him to go elsewhere if he was set on leaving, but a transfer fee of a couple of million would hardly be an issue for a Euro team. Might as well get a few months or a year of higher salary in the meantime.

I think the only thing stopping Taxi from getting a big Euro deal is his lack of comfort using his right foot. Same thing I think held Lindpere back. Otherwise he is the complete package.
