Scotland and Wales in the same group, I was hoping England would've been drawn in with them.

Group I in Europe is going to be interesting.

Mexico is guaranteed to lose on that blacktop in Costa Rica. El Salvador and T&T will likely end up in that group. We all know how Mexico likes to lose to Caribbean nations.

Our group, aside from having to play Jamaica is by far the easiest.

I fucking care, dick!

They basically made it so New Zealand can't make it back in and get cheated out of the group stage because Italy is a bunch of diving pussies

They got unlucky with the draw. Last time they had to face the 5th best from Asia, but they drew CONMEBOL. No Oceania is this next World Cup.

Very curious to know what your basis for this statement is....

CONCACAF:
Group A El Salvador, Suriname, Cayman Is, Dominican Rep
Group B Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, Barbados, Bermuda
Group C Panama, Dominica, Nicaragua, Bahamas
Group D Canada, St Kitts, Puerto Rico, St Lucia
Group E Grenada, Guatemala, St Vincent, Belize

Group B: Mexico, Costa Rica, Winner A, Winner B
Group C: Cuba, Honduras, Winner D, Winner C

So the innernets tell me that Cuba goes straight into the group stage because they are higher ranked (64) than Panama (68), Canada (84), and El Salvador (92). Former CONCACAF hex teams T&T and Guatemala have fallen to 95th and 125th respectively.

What the heck? Are these rankings based on actual games? Don't they know that half of Cuba's team defects every time they come to the US?

Is Guatemala that bad? They're only three spots ahead of Josh Saunders' Puerto Rico.

Interesting draw...think the USA got the easiest draw of the three groups. Mexico got the "group of death" IMO, though Honduras could have a tough one, too.

Truthfully, we should go, no worse, than 5-0-1 in our group

Sucks, for New Zealand but you never know what happens in a two-leg playoff! Also, think the Netherlands & Spain got some tough groups while England & Germany made out pretty well.

Scotland v Wales should be intense!

L.A. Galaxy - 4-Time & Back-to-Back MLS Cup Champions!!

Brady Hoke - returning U-M to glory...Go, Blue!

USA Soccer - Don't Tread On Us!

Colombia - returning to the World Cup after 16-year hiatus!

Thanks for breaking all this down, Riggs.

As a Hellenophile, I'm pleased to see what a favorable group the Greeks drew. They make have to leave large wooden horses in front of banks to pay for the team's trip to Brazil, but I'm confident they'll be there.

If that Asian Group E is designed to give Qatar a chance to qualify, I expect Iran will have something to say about that. DPRK's winding up in a group with Japan pretty much precludes the team from getting in trouble again for a poor showing on the big stage, since they won't be there.

Winner E: Guatemala?
Winner F: Seriously?

Without the US/Mexico rivalry, CONCACAF qualifying just became a snooze fest.

Winner F: Seriously?

Haiti is my guess.

Without the US/Mexico rivalry, CONCACAF qualifying just became a snooze fest.

Yeah - Haiti is my guess as well.

That's going to be an exciting away match.

Who's in for a trip?
