From Dyer:

26 year old Winger.  Supposedly can play inside as well.  He was a name that was mentioned last week or so about having interest from MLS so it turns out the interest was from us.  And we had to trade for the discovery rights from Minnesota.

Played for Bradley at Stabaek.  Were his rights acquired as part of the Allen loan?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Would make sense.
Hopefully we didn't have to give up something additional to obtain the rights.

Maybe we acquired his discovery rights for the Allen loan?

Seriously, MLS needs to get rid of that idiocy already.

Doesn't seem to be an integral part of their first team.

Completely agree. It's absurd it only works in some cases.

The whole David Villa thing irks me. How did we get nothing for his "discovery" rights but now have to give something to get a player of much less quality?

The whole Discovery crap is one of many reasons MLS isn't growing more rapidly.

Step 1: sign less famous Keita brother - CHECK

Step 2: have synergy with a European sister club (RB Leizpig) - CHECK

Step 3: Sign Naby Keita from Leizpig - coming in 60-90 days

And at 27 he's not even that young.  I'm guessing Bradley had a favorable opinion of him and that carried a lot of weight.  Doesn't seem like the "difference maker" Marsch referred to.

Well, he's really 26 but agree.  Not the obvious difference maker I was personally hoping for.

That said, he's not trash either.  Hoping he's a good player that's just been bounced around too much.

I'm happen to give him a chance.  It's not like this bounced from club to club in one of the top Euro leagues though, we're talking Norway & Poland here.  What kind of improvement will this guy be over Etienne?  Is his upside better than Etienne's?  Because Etienne's playing time seems the most likely to suffer with this signing.

Didn't expect him to be speaking english there.  And I think that's a yankees hat so nice.

The positions he likes to play fits our system and what we need.  Left mid or behind the striker is what he said he prefers.  Also said right side isn't a problem. Royer has proven to be able to play great on both. Personally like Royer on the right because Taxi is a great crosser of the ball and Royer is good in the air.

Yep, understood.  I have to watch Keita to have a real opinion.

Really, if we are going to stay with the same formation, Sean Davis is hurt with minutes as well.  Shame because he was great in this formation.
