It's not defensive skills that Murillo lacks, it is defensive attitude. When he wants to he can defend well, but there are times that look like he just can't be bothered putting himself in a position to lock down space.

Can Armas change that or will he always be a defensive liability.

Regulator's thought about moving him to RW is interesting.

I shy away from re-positioning guys, and even more so when RW is a position I'd hope we could target for an elite, big $ signing....   but he's just 22, one of our best at taking on defenders 1 v 1, and I really can get behind the idea of him and Duncan together on that side.    It doesn't hurt that he'd finally give some modicum of height to our offense.

Don't think we are getting a legit RWer....

I think we have a budget and that budget is being used on BWP and Kaku.  Sucks but I think it's the case.

We have to root for one of the many to really take a step up next season.  Valot pretty much was doing that, but we need him to return to what he was, and perhaps Mines to turn into a big player.  Mines has it in him.

Sadly I think you are right. It was clear before the start of last season that a top notch RW was needed for this team and it feels like another year will pass without one.

You don't have to be a soccer genius to see that we have enough talent to make the playoffs, but we lack that offensive edge to make it all the way through the playoffs.

I guess we have to hope that someone emerges or that Muyl takes a big leap.

Duncan is as good as it gets in my opinion.  He's the player I feared losing most in that expansion draft.  Yanes isn't Duncan as far as speed and athleticism but Yanes is a very smooth, good player.  Good on the ball, and a natural defender. Yanes would be very good cover in this league for Taxi.

I'd sell Murillo because I actually think Duncan is better defensively.  On the ball though, few are as good as Murillo.

I would plan on Duncan being lost to injury. I havent seen enough of Yanes to know if hes a direct replacement more of less for Duncan. If he is then great were all set. If not, we need another young talented body.

Duncan had a very strong four games, I'm hyped about him too, but four games isn't enough to actively shop a top 3 RB in MLS imo.

Something to consider with Murillo, 2018 was the most he's played and traveled in his young career. I thought most of the moments where he'd turn off for a second came towards the end of the season and fatigue could have played a factor.

Tyler was the only player on the team more athletic than Duncan.  Add that he's pretty skilled on the ball and has solid defensive instincts, I'm extremely optimistic with Duncan.  ACL injury happened so early in the season that it shouldn't be a big factor either.  Plus it's likely there wasnt any more damage in the knee considering he played on the injury a bit.

Nice to see the club taking it seriously and a sign of good things to come this off season.

Glad to see RB spending money to retain players.
Would have liked to see that with Adams, but the overlords wanted him. If things do not work out, perhaps he can be loaned back to us.
The MLS salary cap appears meaningless. All clubs exceed it with various forms of funny money. RB has been towards the lower end, but gets more value for money than most other clubs.
As others have noted elsewhere, if RB is boasting about growing revenue, there should be more money to spend.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
