Apparently rumored to be interested in 33 year old CM/DM from Bayer Leverkusen Charles Aranguiz. He is under contract until 2023, but paper talk of him asking for a contract termination, been strongly linked to Inter of Brazil where he played years ago.
Funniest parts of the article. Aranguizs agent met with Denis Hamlett last Thursday, Struber has signed off on the transfer, RBNY would pay Aranguiz $3M a year.

Are there any 33-year-old Bundesliga strikers we can sign?

Maybe it's precursor to a Casseres sale?
Still, that age is completely out of character. When is the last time we signed a player on that side of 30?

The only interesting thing is the name drop of Hamlett and Struber and the contract details, but with how this team operates Im not sure how this news outlet gets it unless its coming directly from his agent.Maybe it's precursor to a Casseres sale?

Still think its incredibly unlikely there is anything to it for a variety of reasons.

Why?
I think he steps in for Dylan Nealis. Basically Duncan's replacement.

Yes, he was a goalie (but a DP!), but at his age, he was injured from sitting on the plane for too long.

Is anyone familiar with this guy? His pedigree suggests that he would play a much bigger role for RBNY. He had 26 appearances for a Champions League team this past year and has been a regular for the Chilean National team. I think I saw that he was Leverkusen's captain a year or so ago.
Think Luquinhos - Aranguiz - Morgan behind Klimala (or whoever). He'd push Omir to the bench.
Or if he played more of a 6, he would push Yearwood/CCJ or maybe Amaya to the bench.
There's probably nothing to this report, and he doesn't seem to address the team's most pressing needs.

I think it was mentioned moves for fletcher, luq and now this guy.
This raises an interesting question. Since thewell left, does hamlet take orders from struber or does struber take orders from hamlet?

He has always been more of a 6 and sometimes box-to-box. I'd love to get him here. He'd offer some composure on the ball in CM that is sorely lacking.
