St Louis voters today decide if StL joins MLS. It's such a sweetheart deal for them, if only they read the fine print instead of basing their vote on prior stadium rip-offs.

Dallas can make concacaf champions league history tonight 10pm by dumping Pachuca.

Two cities I do not usually root for, but today, I'm rooting for both.

Do they have a strong following in St. Louis? I know they have a USL side, but I admittedly know nothing about them.

Yeah, one of the better avg attendances in USL - obviously not on MLS level yet. But with Rams leaving town, baseball is basically the only game in town, so soccer can easily get bigger if they make the jump from USL to MLS - think Seattle, but possibly even more so (Seattle still had NFL and baseball after the Sonics left). Obviously adjust for population.

I think the following is in their suburbs. The actual city not so much and the vote was only for actual city residents. No reason MLS cannot lower the admission fee to whatever Minn and Atlanta paid.

Oops - same as Seattle then (only two other major sports teams), and in STL's favour, neither of them is an NFL franchise.
