I have to admit, in the stadium I wasn't impressed with Adams' game. I was focused on the offensive work, and he looked sloppy with the ball all night, not even counting his miss in front of goal. But watching the replay, I saw how much ground he covered and how much work he did breaking up the Cbus attack, which was huge in keeping the clean sheet.
Watching on TV, Adams was huge in the first half--but mainly for his off the ball work. He was running everywhere and was the main reason Cbus struggled to clear the ball out of their own half. I honestly don't remember a single thing he did on the ball except the assist to Royer. Davis's play on the ball/distribution was an overlooked part of the win too, I think.
