Long ways to go yet, but the possibility of MLS Cup at YS is a possibility. Or maybe it will be at RBA? Need 2 wins by Blue and 1 win by RSL.

It would be some bad voodoo for RB to allow NYCFC to host an MLS Cup championship match in RBA. You cant have another team, least of all your crosstown rival, lifting a cup on your pitch. I doubt it would happen anyway. YS would host it and the league would just have to take the negative media for having its championship held in a ballpark.

I'm hoping New England knocks out nycfc than Portland or Salt Lake win the whole thing.

Is YS suitable for a soccer game with the temperature below 32 F? I don't think so.

Frozen ground is ok for American Football because of all the protective gear those players wear, but soccer players need something softer. I'm pretty sure RBA has heating pipes underground.

A) if its good enough for US- Mexico, it should be good enough for  MLS

2) Anyone in attendance at the cancelled DC playoff snowbowl game can attest to the non-existance of a functioning turf heating system.

Functioning being the operative word.

P.S. The game was postponed, not canceled.

Edit: MLS thinks RBA turf is great:

It's not suitable at any temperature.

Rooting for RSL or Portland

Rooting first for Philly, and then for RSL/Portland.

It is woulda, shoulda, coulda time.
A minute away from a PK shootout in Chester.
NYC gets the chance in Foxboro & makes it happen.

Congrats to NYCFC. Beating the Revs up there is quite a feat, regardless of how it was done. And to beat Arena too. Amazing.

I wish  it was us, but it is what it is. Anyway sore-loser is not my modus operandi.

I suppose that I have gotten used to it by now.
