But I don't think there is much time invested in looking for players in South America and Central America or Africa or Asia...
Weird part is that almost every year we hear about a high level member of our FO making a trip to Brazil. I think it was the 2014 off-season that Petke said he was down there looking for a #10, I think Hamlett was there for a bit last year too. Nothing ever comes of it though.

In Brazil, maybe it's that any player that the team would want commands a transfer fee they're not willing to pay.
Seems that in Argentina, teams are willing to pay for those Argy players.

Probably cant figure out how Path works.
He is not alone there.
Perhaps he is waiting for the PA to blow a couple of billion on the PATH extension to Newark Airport, guaranteeing a one-seat ride from EWR to RBA.

Royer was a good find and I feel that's kind of how we got BWP..
But I don't think there is much time invested in looking for players in South America and Central America or Africa or Asia...
I feel like maybe a total of 150 scouts are are on the payroll spread out among all of the clubs not just NY... And each club plays in different style leagues..
What Leipzig might need is far different than what NY need and they aren't going to be looking for what NY need... So NY team is left sifting through data Leipzig collected and it's guys new York doesn't need or aren't looking for or can't afford..
Our new head scout who came from Leipzig has a ton of connections to South America and that's specifically why he came here. Salzburg also has a scouting network in Asia. There's also Red Bull Brazil which has a large scouting network all over South America. I don't think people realize how massive the Red Bull Soccer scouting network is.

Could you provide a link which would enlighten us about this vast network?

Lloyd Sam, we had Grella's friend on trial, and I feel like there were a couple more too
If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

I've read various articles and saw various videos related to Salzburg and Leipzig where they mention where they have a scouting network. Info is out there.

You have fingers and Google. Enjoy. Long list of things to do than try and find links or articles and videos I've seen over the years.
