Seems Blanco's ejection was pretty dramatic.

Rumor has that while exiting the field he spit on an official, head butted a DC staffer, and got into an altercation with police.

"He came up and swung as hard as he could and tried to hit the ball and hit Clyde in the stomach," Burch said. "He thinks he can do whatever he wants. I went over and I pushed him. I didn't hit him, I didn't go after him, I just pushed him down. He's not going to do that to my teammate. He stood up and tried to poke Clyde in the eye and cut his eye open.
"I don't like him, I don't think he's a good person. He's a great player but when he's out there he's doing stuff that you shouldn't be able to get away with."

Blanco got in the face of the DCU staffer and head-butted him square in the face. This infuriated a senior executive who immediately notified police and asked to have Blanco restrained. Blanco shoved the officers and tried to slap one of them in the face. They didn't appear to end up cuffing him, but as they walked him to the locker room and around the corner he apparently got very physical again and it took between 5 and 10 minutes to be restrained and then the police literally locked Quasimodo in the locker room.

I was just about to post this. This sounds like it could have been very ugly and could be a MAJOR problem. I just hope there are a lot of overexagerrating DC fans on BS. Here is the link...

Well, I sorta felt like doing that too.

But ummm...people act shocked.
It's Blanco...we sorta knew that going in.

Why the fuck is someone from DC United talking to him? According to what people are saying he was "encouraging" him to get off the field. While I don't condone what Blanco did as it will only negatively effect the club, nobody from the DC STAFF should have said anyhting to him while he was leaving the field. I've seen Blanco het hammered on the field with no calls and he hasn't reacted like that. There had to be something else going on with him before he stepped on the filed. He lasted one minute. The whole situation is fucked up.

Well, naturally...

I was more implying that this will either be made into a big deal with possible legal or at least MLS front office action or it nothing will come of it, and it will stick to message board on the internet where nerdy Sams Army types will wet their pants in getting to bemoan Blanco

If Comcast in DC had highlights, why the hell could we not get this even in a webstream anywhere?

Something else had to be going on for Blanco to react that way. I have to imagine DC is trying to take advantage of this and really talk up the story with the hope of getting Blanco suspended for an extended time. I wouldn't put it past those dirty scumbags to try and pull a fast one and take advantage of the benefit of the doubt and claim that the situation was worse than it really was.
