G's at KC
Saturday April 7th
Livestrong Sporting Park
ESPN 1:00 PM

When things get really messy at home, it's time to hit the road.  And, the G's are heading out to the jewel of MLS Stadia, Livestrong Park, to tangle with The Best Team in The League... Kansas City.

I'm hoping the challenge of playing a table top team gives the G's the fire and focus they currently lack. But, who knows what's gonna happen?

Will Becks start?
Will Landon be healthy?
Will Robbie and Buddle score in the same game?
Will Bruce put a rabid dog in Cardozo's travel bag?

The Road is made for dreaming.

Kamara, Zusi, CJ, Jimmy Neilson and the rest of those sporting wizards (note to self: change my fantasy team) can run and gun themselves right smack into a pissed off Galaxy.

Bench 'em All Bruce!

I'm thrilled that the game is on ESPN.  Thankfully, I won't miss the game while I'm recharging my mojo at Harrah's.

Did we age 10 years in one measly off season? I don't believe it!

Come on G's. Our team is not that much different from the team that won the CHAMPIONSHIP less than 5 months ago...

Harsh words with friends and kerfuffles in the tunnel are fine and dandy but we really should be fighting the real enemy.  And this week, the enemy is damn Sporting Kansas City.

G's... It's time to start DEFENDING our crown.

No tengo trono ni reina
Ni nadie que me comprenda
Pero sigo siendo el rey

Thank you Fredo. This will certainly be a good test for the G's on the road to say the least.

Im feeling good about this game. There have been some entertaining moments against these guys and it will continue in the form of us winning 2-0:

- Sir Bex 70 yard goal
- "The worst miss of the season" handball non-goal by Kei Kamara
- And my favorite, yet the only moment without a youtube clip. A complete shank by a Galaxy player (probably birchall) that blasted into the stands and nailed the Wizards mascot in the back of the head knocking him down as he attempted to pump up the crowd. Poor guy never saw it coming. If someone can find a clip of that I will forever be greatful. It was the same match as the one with the handball non-goal.

A win against KC would really turn things around, but I'm not exactly confident of that particular outcome...

Bruce needs to return to basics and start grinding out some wins or draws. Not my favorite approach, but a return to the "defend first" tactic is sorely needed at this point...

Dual D-Mids and perhaps a shift in the back line as Tracer suggested in the other thread:

-----------Keane -----------
LD-------Grumpy------Franklin
-------Mikey--Juninho------
Todd--Meyer--Boyens---AJ
----------Saunders----------

Sarvas and Buddle coming off the bench are great cards to pull around the 60th minute mark.

If anything I just hope to see some changes and adjustments. The team's cage needs to be rattled a bit...

If you're not creepin', you're not trying...

Yes, click here (not Rick Astley, I swear)

Excellent news. I don't believe Donovan at 100% would have been enough to save the Gs' bacon against NE, but his absence no doubt contributed to the evening becoming a catastrophe of Biblical proportions.

There is a better or worse when it comes with Rick Astley? It is just all bad.

Ugh...my memory fails me again. I just went back and checked my old posts. I was waaaay off. Sorry.

First it was against the Rapids. Second it wasn't even a galaxy player. It was Cummings. He blasted his own mascot.

There's definitely a better or worse.
You could get his rendition of "When I fall in love" which is painful even for me but somehow made his greatest hits
Then you can get a nice love ballad like "Cry for help" which is definitely in the "Better" (If that wasn't clear)
And then there is a "better" dance tune (than Never gonna give you up) in "She wants to dance with me".
We'll talk about this in depth.
