This week's preview from the LARS website, comes from El Lobo

After a busy week that saw the team hanging with President Barack Obama at the White House and the re-emergence of Landon Donovan, the Los Angeles Galaxy head north to Toronto, Canada to face a retooled Toronto FC team coached by former MLS player Ryan Nielsen.

Hail, hail the gangs all here

Two key starters in Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzalez are expected to rejoin the team from International Duty for Saturday’s match against Toronto, albeit with one of the two carrying an injury.  Keane will likely not see playing time as he suffered a calf strain during Ireland’s World Cup qualifying game against Sweden last Friday.  Gonzalez, coming off a stellar performance in the USMNT’s hexagonal match against Mexico at Azteca Stadium on Wednesday, should be back in his familiar role anchoring the Los Angeles Galaxy backline.

Perhaps one of the more notable returning faces is none other than Landon Donovan.  After meeting up with the team prior to meeting with the President, Donovan returns from his much publicized leave of absence from soccer.  It is highly unlikely that Donovan will see playing time this Saturday against Toronto, but his return to the team is a huge plus in that the former team captain, and key player from the last two season’s championship core, is back in training alongside his teammates where he rightfully belongs.

It will be interesting to see if Bruce puts Landon on the bench for the match.  There are reports that Landon came in with a high level of fitness, but he's no David Beckham - who had the ability to go months without training and walk right onto the field, so I suspect that we'll not see anything from him until after the Champions League matches.

I'm hoping to see the same XI from last week, with Omar slotted in for (the indispensible) Leonardo.

With Thug Life in central defense for TFC, Inglewood & Irvine will learn what it's like to get kicked in places that they've never been kicked before.  It will be good for their learning process.

I hope we win.

If Robbie's out for a while, we might need Landon against Monterrey.

It'll be fun to see McBean battle with Califf. Inglewood will just run right around him, though.

Will Omar even be awake for this early of a start?

Go Galaxy!

P.S. ex-MLSers as coaches are definitely more concerning than ex-Blackburn Rovers.

I thought so as well, which is why I opted out of mentioning the PL altogether.

VIVA MLS!

McFrijole and Inglewood are gonna cause havoc.  The TFC back line is molded in Califf's style of defending.... fouls aplenty coming..

If you're not creepin', you're not trying...

I'm not expecting much from the team tomorrow, really. We have Monterrey on Wednesday. A draw in Toronto would be sufficient to please me.

I'll be at the LARS Official Viewing Party tomorrow at T. Boyle's in Pasadena at 10:30 am. I'm not expecting much from that either.

If my expectations are exceeded, I'll be a happy man.

Why are the Canuckleheads insisting on having this game played so friggin' early, anyway?

Starting XI: Cudicini; DeLaGarza, Gonzalez, Leonardo, Dunivant©; Franklin, Sarvas, Juninho, Stephens; Magee, McBean

Subs: Rowe, Meyer, Garcia, Jimenez, Clark, Villarreal & Donovan.

I guess that explains Bruce yanking Inglewood in the last match.  And Landon on the bench!

Not clear if Leonardo in the back and Sean on the right is down to Bruce's belief that we have to do anything we can to get Leonardo on the field or to his belief that Sean is a midfielder.

What the hell was that?  Nice going, Cudicini. <_<

Terrible pass by Leo.  Cudicini shouldn't have come out, Omar was close to getting that ball.

I'll admit to being a worrier by temperament.  The main thing that's worrying me right now is what looks like a pattern of not having much to show for how much we dominate play.

Also, Cudicini and Leonardo.  At this point I am just not seeing where Cudicini is an upgrade over Saunders, and I say that knowing full well that Saunders is not super awesome.  As for Leonardo, is Meyer somehow healthy enough to suit up but not healthy enough to play?  The kid kicked ass down the stretch last fall.  Bruce only knows why Leonardo keeps getting the nod ahead of him.

Oh, sure, 45 minutes to go, maybe we'll pull it out, etc., etc.

Yellow card for Califf.

The Prodigal Landon comes in for McBean at 60 minutes.

Villarreal in for Stephens in the 68th minute.

Landon on in the 60th minute.  First touch is a weak shot.  Should have buried that one.

He picked up right where he left off.  Poor finishing was a problem last year.
