That would definitely put the club in the black (in terms of making an operating profit), correct? i seem to remember that we were still running at a loss each year

We lost money at least the past 2 years, according to these Forbes articles:

Not sure how accurate those things are.  Leagues and teams always claim as little as revenue as possible because they never want to get crushed in the CBA.

Either way, I'm happy because it's a big time sponsor and it's more money for the team. Any possibility at more money has to be a good thing.

I thought I read reports a couple months ago that RBNY, as well as many other MLS clubs were operating at a decent profit?

Anyway, I'm gonna miss that emphatic "RED, BULL, ARENA!"

If the stadium is already brandished in Red Bull swag, why not take 8 mill a year and have it named something else?

It's a win-win.

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

The Training Facility and the RBNY Academy dormitory will be the best $80m can buy.

Well with an extra $8M / year they could conceivably bring on one more Kaku level talent ($5m initial price tag plus $1m ?? per year salary). Then sell after 2-3 years and repeat

The other teams are doing it, and are therefore getting an advantage over us. Besides, RB has to balance the books and this will help.

Too bad the stadium will not be named for Arby's Restaurants, and be called "Arby Arena". That way RB could have its cake and eat it too.

I think they are doing this to cover paying Kaku back for Felipes furniture...

Wonder what the nick names we can have for it. If Caesars names it we can call it, "the palace", "the colesium", "the sportsbook", "the casino".

Exactly this.  Just like it'll always be Giants Stadium, screw Metlife stadium
