Am I the only one who did not like the 2nd episode? I like Arya and Gendry, and appreciated being introduced to Pyke, but the rest was weak and deviated from the books in ways I did not enjoy.

I dunno... I thought Ep. 2 of Season One was the weakest episode of that season. This one I thought was much stronger. But it's a difficult episode to sell. I don't know what deviated that terribly from the book, though. I loved the Tyrion & Cersei scenes, they are so good on screen together.

EP 3 was much more satisfying to me. In fact, the scene where Theon burns the letter he penned to Robb reveals more about his fate in a single scene than the chapter in the books did. It was far more effective and sad knowing what we the readers come to learn about him. It was great to finally meet Brienne. Tyron's game wherein he reveals who has loose lips was well done, too. A simple little primer on the Game of Thrones...

Probably go bad in a week or so but look at the ratings boost this season.
Blue line is last season. Red line is this season.
