I've chosen to follow this team and it's campaign to stay up in the Premiere League this season, so if there is anyone else who gives two shits about the squad, post here. Watford FC Homepage

After signing Damien Francis from Wigan, there are rumors that Theo Walcott, the teen wunderkind of the English National team bench, may be on his way to Watford.
He was spotted by some Arsenal and Watford nuts taking a physical today in a Watford facility...the Watford folks aren't happy since when he faced them before, he was invisible. The Arsenal fans seem to be OK with it as they trust in Wenger's assessment of players, and assume that if he is letting a player go on loan, he isn't good enough to be a Gunner. We'll see. -------------------- Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

I think you are right, and that the facility used for the physical he was taking is just coincidental.

Watford agrees with Manchester United to retain star goal keeper Ben Foster on loan.
"We have an agreement with Watford that the boy goes back for the full year." Watford supporters can breathe a big sigh of relief now Manchester United supremo Sir Alex Ferguson has given the go-ahead for young goalkeeping prospect Ben Foster to spend a second season on loan with the Hornets. Speculation had surrounded the commanding goalkeeper's future ever since Watford's Play-Off Final victory back in May. Now, almost two months later, the news all Watford supporters have been waiting for arrived when Ferguson revealed Foster will again be sent out on loan following the arrival of fellow custodian Tomasz Kuszczak from relegated West Bromwich Albion." -------------------- Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

Yes, although I'm not sure what percentage or the details. The Watford FC message boards refer to Sir Elton John regularly. It's a pretty unique feature to the clubs mythology. It's really another reason why I love the team, aside from the obvious:
American (and former UIC and Fire reserves player) Jay Demerit's game winning goal against Leeds to earn promotion to the Premiership at the end of last season. An instant legend! -------------------- Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

*yawn*
Beckham rumors... The Watford board, like the Galaxy and probably other boards, is seeing Becks rumors. Nobody believes it, but the point is that they are out there. Kind of ridiculous, isn't it? -------------------- Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

According to the internet: "He is now Life President of Watford FC (he had become owner and chairman in 1976, sold most of his shares in 1990, but returned as a director in 1993)." On a side note, biog.com also said this: "A godfather to the Beckham boys, Elton John is also godfather of Sean Lennon. " Interesting. -------------------- |
