This article says Marcelo Salas has flown to Chicago to negotiate a deal.

Could be a good addition.

I watched Salas play a lot for Lazio. He's a great striker and he would be a great addition to our team. His stike record for Chile speaks for itself.

You probably read spanish better than me but I haven't seen that mentioned.

I think I answered your question with the exact amount of seriousness I would entertain its suggestion, which judging by this sentence is a whole lot.

Nicknamed El Matador, has a deft touch with his left foot with which has led to some spectacular goals. He currently does not play for any team, after being released by Universidad de Chile.

I can get in to someone nicked El Matador, but aside from that I don't like what I read.

Reading that with google translation took a little interpreting but seens like he's excited about it. I found it kinda funny that it refers to blanco as the White one, took that translation a little literal.

If he is out of contract, does that mean he can start to play as soon a contact is signed? Or does he have to wait until the transfer window opens...

I'm sure Farid will also chime in on this topic also but as a Chilean I'll say that I'm guardedly optimistic (Is guardedly a word?). Salas was an absolute stud back in his day and if he can regain that form it would be great for this struggling offense. However, I'm afraid his best soccer is behind him. Hope he can prove me wrong if this happens. smile.gif

I AM A FAN OF THE CHICAGO FIRE. AS SUCH I BELIEVE YOUR TEAM IS INFERIOR TO OURS IN EVERY SINGLE WAY. IN FACT, I HEARD THAT YOUR TEAMS FANS COME FROM LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND HAVE HAD SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH FAMILY MEMBERS. IN CONTRAST AND IN SPITE OF ACTUAL EVIDENCE I BELIEVE THAT YOUR FANS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A FAIR AMOUNT OF SEXUAL ACTIVITY INVOLVING LIVESTOCK. OUR SUPPORTERS GROUP'S POWER OF RHETORIC IS SO MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN YOURS. IN FACT OUR FANS HAVE HAD A ROMANTIC INTERLUDE WITH YOUR GOALKEEPER'S WIFE IN WHICH FELLATIO WAS PERFORMED FORTHWITH OVER A PERIOD OF HOURS. WE THEN PAID HER FOR HER SERVICES. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO INFORM FANS THAT OUR SUPPORTERS GROUP CONSUMES LARGE AMOUNTS OF ALCOHOL AND NARCOTICS IN AN EFFORT TO SHOW HOW POWERFUL AND FRIGHTENING WE CAN BE IN AN EFFORT TO INSTILL PSYCHOLOGICAL FEAR AMONG OPPOSING PLAYERS.

Jesus Christ...

I know it's been a few years since his Italian dominance, but if he's in shape sign him immediately.

Really, his being is shape is the only thing I'm concerned about. He's clearly got the skills.

Plus, heaven above, he can play RIGHT MID.

Did the Fire win an MLS cup in 2008? I thought it was 1998?
