With a heavy heart am I doing my best to get all the information out there to anybody interested in remembering the life of Army Pvt. Jair DeJesus Garcia. Final details are starting to come together now and as I am able to fill in the blanks I will do so.

Join friends and family for a wake: Monday, August 11th at Holy Cross in Culver City 3:00-8:00 PM. 5835 W. Slauson Ave, Culver City, 90230. Link to Google Map. Link to Holy Cross site.

Religious Memorial Service: Tuesday, August 12th 10:00 AM. Also at Holy Cross.

Funeral Procession and Military Service: Will depart Holy Cross en route to Riverside National Cemetery for Military Service and Burial. 22495 Van Buren Blvd.
Riverside, 92518. Link to Google Map. Link to Riverside National. Procession leaves immediately following the religious services. Estimated departure time from Culver City and projected arrival in Riverside to come for those unable to attend both.

At the request of Jair's mother, Mrs. Maria Avneri, any and all friends of Jair are asked to help celebrate his life with the family at her home following Military Service. The address is, 18764 Algiers St., Porter Ranch, 91326. All are welcome. Projected arrival time to come.

Jair's Mother has also specifically requested any LARS in attendance to come wearing black LARS t-shirts if you have one.

Again, I will fill in all the blanks as I am able.

Bump, please note the addition of times for the wake this Monday and funeral services on Tuesday.

At the moment I do not know exactly when events (procession, military service and gathering at Jair's mother's house) will begin but they are being planned in succession immediately following the Holy Cross service.

I will do my best to try and provide estimated times for the events that will occur later in the day but may not be able to until the day of.

As for our own remembering of Jair a few of us are working with the Galaxy FO (they contacted us and asked what they could do) to properly celebrate the memory of Jair on the August 21st game. I'll post details as the date approaches.

Finally, please be aware that Eddie has received the well wishes from his LARS Family and thanks everyone greatly. He came by my house last night and I'm sure most of you can guess how tough these times are for him. He thanks one and all for you thoughts and prayers.

Thank you to all LARS who were able to take time from their days to attend any of the services for Jair. In speaking with Eddie and his mother, I know that it meant a great deal to them to see so many of Jair's friends pay their respects.

I'd also like to publicly commend the Patriot Guard Riders for their efforts. If you were not able to attend, the Patriot Guard is a group of motorcycle riding veterans who lead funeral processions on their bikes adorned with American flags. They also provided and honor guard of flags during the ceremonies. They are truly a class act and their efforts appreciated.

Thanks to all...
