I've eaten steaks from coast to coast with 'taters and toast. Mastros in Beverly Hills is delicious. Just had Del Friscos two months ago. It really depends on your own taste buds and wallet. Been to many a stakehouse here in L.A. and I still think Mastros bests most places. Nugget in the rough pic for me, Del Rae in Pico Rivera. You can go on Yelp and read every asshole's review and they all pretty much sound the same; usually end up with "try the lobster mash."

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "unskilled people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it." The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average.

I am partial to Bodacious Q down the street from the HDC, University and Avalon. It's basically a giant smoker machine in a strip mall. They serve sandwiches and slabs of ribs or sell by the pound catering style. The sides are simple, just potato salad or macaroni salad, and usually served with a slice or two of wonder bread. But the meat...
So friggin good. The smoked turkey is the endgame. Once you have it, you forget all about the chicken or links. The ribs are really good too.
Don't take my word for it though...about Bodacious Q in the Daily Breeze link here.
Here is Duck, the proprietor, doing his thing:

Inside the smoker...

People, it's right next to the HDC...so completely worth a stop before a Saturday game.
"Open Tues-Sat from 11-5 and those are Ducks hours...at 77-80 yrs old, he can work whenever he wants to!"
