I've seen this several times.

This was on Ebay before. It's 98-99 shirt, with Matthaus' name, who only played in 2000. The NY Life patch was only there in 2000-01, so it doesn't apply as well. Plus, the 2 dots where never over the A (not 100% sure about that one). So... yeah.

I think it's flattering that someone makes Metro fake jerseys.

to be honest, the jersey might have fooled people because the original signing pictures took place when the team donned that 98/99 jersey. When Lothar came to the States, he posed with that jersey.

The official signing of Matthaus also revealed the 2000-2002 jersey and hence why the ebay one is a fake, unless of course that it was part of the initial batch made before the new jerseys came out. Then looking at the back of the jersey, in 1998 it would have made sense lettering wise but not sponsor wise as New York Life wasn't the sponsor, Fujifilm was. In 1999, where the last name would go, the jerseys had a block across the back so that the name wouldn't go over any stripes. Therefore, the jersey is an official fake.

Presumably it costs $39.98 if you want the pair.
