Andy Heroon scored in the CCL vs Cruz Azul. His team got a whooping though, 6-2.

"Dave Checketts and SCP Worldwide partners Dean Howes, Kenneth Munoz, Michael McCarthy and Chris Bevilacqua, chose Real Salt Lake for the team's name because they desired to associate the team with a successful soccer club, and "Fire" was already taken."

Zak Ibsen played soccer in Germany, for the United States national team and in Major League Soccer. Growing up on the California coast, he also played the game on the beach.

But his life was nearly ruined, not by his addiction to the sport he loves — but to crystal methamphetamine.

Did the Fire win an MLS cup in 2008? I thought it was 1998?

Jesse March expected to join the US National Team as an assistant.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blo...hing-staff.html

With Ralston signing with StL, and Jesse retiring, those are the last of the players who have played in the league consecutively since day 1. Would have liked to see Jesse here as an assistant, but some years with the US would strengthen a bid to become Fire manager down the line.

I seem to remember hearing that Lubos will be with him.

Bingo.
http://www.praguepost.com/sports/3476-czec...-with-u-s-.html

It speaks loudly to the special quality the early Fire had that so many of its players still are involved with each other and at such important positions. If Jesse and Lubos are the assistants, and Mike Sorber stays on, the entire national team coaching staff will be ex-Fire.
