Cal Bears picked in a few polls to top the Pac-10 in pre-season.

We have a formula for disaster this season:
-1 returning starter (Dragovic).
-Other 4 starters are 3 SO, 1SR (Roll who was a role player last year)
-We are relying on a So. to carry us (Lee) who averaged 3 points per game.
-We run a system offense with a slow pace. This in combo with the new blood will get better but is not in rhythm now.
-Lacking depth due to injuries already.
Combine all that and then some with 31% FG, 17% 3-pt, 41% FT and you are going to lose to CSUF.
Good win for them though. They have a couple transfers and some sneaky good talent and should finish better than 7th in their conference like they were saying last night.

yeah, Ucla lost too many starters from last years team. i do not have high hopes for this year to say the least.
Thought Howland had recruited well enough to withstand graduation
Is the cupboard totally bare (NIT tourney...if any) or is there a chance the Bruins could surprise this season?

I watched ALL of that disgusting Bruin game last night. It's going to be a very rough season. Michel Roll is our best player and go-to guy???? We can't shoot. We can't solve a zone defense. We are in big trouble. We should get better as the season rolls on. But, significantly better than last night is still bottom half of Pac-10.

no, just making a point . . . for the bruins that were bashing on USC last saturday, it seems they feel further than us. only an observation nothing more. just to clarify, my laughing is more at the UCLA supporters that annually say "wait for basketball", and my question still stands . . . what excuse do they make for football season now? one other thing, as i recall i said "no point is cheering for the enemy of your enemy if you cant beat either (or something to that effect)"Cal Bears basketball=Cal Bears football

considering that UCLA just lost to the powerhouse of cal state fullerton . . . is it beyond the realm of hope that USC might steal a game this year?
