Seems as though Figgy has opted for the Mariners for the $$$ they threw at him, only $1m more per season than what the Angels offered to keep him.
C'mon the Galaxy!
Liverpool for the Premier League,FA Cup & League Cup!
St Mirren for a top half finish in the SPL!
C'mon Angels!

granted, i am not as much into the dodger's day to day moves (as i am other favorite teams), but off the top of my head . . . aside from manny, when have the dodgers ever done any major moves over the past few years. weren't most of previous seasons moves (including manny) last minute bargin basement acquisitions?as a dodger fan, the silence from them this off season speaks volumes. we are fucked. i hope frank sells the team(crossing fingers).
that being said, this offseason seems no different than those over the past 5 - 10 years. i think many people thought that getting torre was a sign that the dodgers were going to open up the purse strings, but the current GM for the dodgers has never had a history for that.
personally i think our dodgers are going to do just fine . . . and the divorce won't have any impact on the finances for the 2010 season.

the divorce is having an impact. looking back there have been signs. if i remember correctly plascke wrote an article on something similar.granted, i am not as much into the dodger's day to day moves (as i am other favorite teams), but off the top of my head . . . aside from manny, when have the dodgers ever done any major moves over the past few years. weren't most of previous seasons moves (including manny) last minute bargin basement acquisitions?

for an owner who said his goal is to bring a consistent top contender and have a championship caliber team, he sure has backed off in moving in that direction.
the dodgers will do ok, but don't expect to get into the world series with its current players. i'll reassess once the season starts and again during the trade deadline.
not thrilled at the moment.
