Three windows were cracked ... was there really any need ?

I know it is hard to believe O'Infallible one, but you got this one wrong. They weren't holligans. Couldn't be because we have no real club culture here as you have so graciously pointed out innumerable times, bless your soul. No, they were good samaritans, in fact.

Earlier in the day they had learned that it was not Red Bull, but none other than the Dean of PU, Nick S., who was responsible for starting RBA, the "cathedral of soccer" in the US, that they have come to worship. They had heard Nick called an A-hole many times here, but didn't realize that that was not a slur, but in fact a term of endearment, referring to his have started the dig, the arena-hole, that begot this piece of heaven on earth.

Seeing the Union supporter's bus, they had a "vision" that Old St. Nick was aboard. Finding remnants of the excavation still about them, they picked up these hallowed artifacts and sought to offer them up the their saviour. Unfortunately, with a few they were a bit zealous, their passion and adoration made them weak at the knees and the radiance of Nick's grandeur temporarily blinded them and caused them to miss their mark.

They only wanted to honor the great man and give credit where credit is most certainly due.

I don't think that our supporters club are accountable for that. My guess is that the Philly fans baited enough people on their way out that they got followed and attacked. It's a shame, because now our away supporters have to deal with a stupid revenge attack.

But bus windows have been broken before. Fuck, even New England's weak supporters have broken bus windows. This might be new to Philly, but the rest of the league has seen it before.
We hate because we care.

They talked some shit from the comfort of their bus seats to me and my friends... anti LFC, NJ, RB dribble. I have some pride in me, along with some pints, about the LFC and NJ so I returned the favor by trying to make their comfortable bus seat, not so comfortable.

Not every act of violence at an American game is green street wanna's be's.... some of us have pride in our hometown and it's football and a true distaste for down river trash. Not everyone who attends a match or writes on the net has to be an over weight Dungeons and Dragon's gamer. .... and we're off to the honeycomb again.

agree with you!!!
"Banners wave and the air resounds with noisemakers, firecrackers and drums, it rains streamers and confetti. The city disappears, it's routine forgotten, all that exists is the temple. In this sacred place, the only religion without atheists puts it's divinities on display. Although the fan can contemplate the miracle more comfortably on TV, he prefers the pilgrimage to this spot where he can see his angels in the flesh doing battle with the demons of the day....
Rarely does the fan say: 'My club plays today.' Rather he says: 'We play today.' He knows it's 'player number 12' who stirs up the winds of fervor that propel the ball when she falls asleep, just as the other players know that playing without their fans is like dancing without music"

I have to agree, it's funny to me that anytime a talk about a punchup comes up it's all "stop being green street hooligans". I'm not trying to come off as a tough guy, and anyone who has talked with me knows I'm laid back and a ball buster, but I've been involved in scenes for the better part of 20 years where there's been all types of chaos, from windows smashing to punchups and more. Not that it's right or wrong, but not ever person who enjoys or gets involved in a brawl in a wannabe hoolie.
I will admit I've seen and heard a few jock types trying to act tough at a few matches, but you get that in all scenes.

A guy talks bad about your town and you throw rocks at a bus? Weak.

I don't want our team, town, state to be associated with throwing rocks at a bus.

I really hope your not part of a Supporters group associated here.

I'll buy you a pint for a good post ! But to clear things up, I love the ESC and now GSS support. It's makes going to MLS games way more enjoyable.

As far as Carlisle go, I'm sure most of our fans and especially management would LOVE to have a SG with the enthusiasm ESC shows. There's been a group trying to start something similar in Carlisle this season but they aren't even remotely close to the ESC.

See, I do love you guys.
