It turns out that Sandusky was McQuary's little league football coach, and that he regularly slept over at Sandusky's house.

So perhaps there was the innate fear any previous victim would feel.

That's the only thing I can think of. In all honesty, he probably didn't stop it because he - like Paterno - is a rank coward.

Yes it is (He was retiring the season he broke Eddie's record in any case), and yes he does on both counts. Although I still don't believe he will make it until Saturday. The BOT is currently in flux - when that gets straightened, JoePa gets straightened.
