According to Mr. Lewis: "Red Bulls Roy Miller, Rafa Marquez and Joel Lindpere called up to international friendlies on Feb. 29th."

So we'll get at least one game with the second string starting.

Given how close the games are to each other it was highly doubtful that we would have played the A-Team three straight games in pre-season. It would be more likely that they would mix and match even if no one was going anywhere.

Well, we already have 8 new signed players and the potential to add the 5-6 current trialists. Way more important than actually winning games right now is making sure these guys are getting on the same page.

By all means try and win the games, but I hope they give everyone adequate field time and sub early if someone isn't ready to go the full 90.

  • Feb 22nd 10pm (8pm MNT) vs RSL
  • Feb 25th 10pm (8pm MNT) vs NER
  • Feb 29th 10pm (8pm MNT) vs LAG
And since it's a round robin tournament; a "final" and "3rd place" game on the 3rd of March.

*Edit-> Feb 29th is also a FIFA date; so there are a metric fuckton of International friendlies that will I'm sure diminish the squad. Good practice for the second string.


Also, don't forget the NYRB v's Pumas UNAM challenge game on the 23rd, live on MSG+ at 10pm.

I'd imagine most the starters will be kept for the Pumas game. Which means, we'll get to see the new guys tonite. Can't wait!!!
