Looks to me like it was a club decision to give a former great palyer with Montreal in the 2nd division days a one year top flght contract...probably by the looks with an eye to a coaching role in the future.
I personally support such a move, its always nice to see clubs taking care of their own, which really isn't something you can say in the Soler/Backe era here.

Woly was forced to retire mid-season.
Petke was told he wasn't coming back for 2011 and was also no brought in by Soler/Backe
Robinson, was he ever a player for us? Isn't he coaching on the west coast this year?
