The Red Bulls also welcomed another trialist into the fold, with Ruben Gonzalez joining them in Arizona. Gonzalez, who just turned 21 last month, played as a midfielder in the Dallas Cup in 2010 for the U.S. Under-20 National Team under then-head coach Thomas Rongen.
He was also a member of the CD Chivas USA Academy and played striker at Cerritos College before moving on to German lower-division side Kickers Emden. Gonzalez was one of three Americans on the roster, but after Emden went into insolvency, he seems to have found his way into Red Bulls camp as a trialist.
