To claim that Codey isn't self-interested is... yeah. Whatever. Christie isn't losing reelection anytime soon.I hope Codey runs for governor next time against Christie. It would be nice to have a governor who isn't a moron and actually cares about the people of NJ.

Honestly, name one thing that Christie has done well. He's completely incompetent. And he's a bully. And a liar.

You know the worst thing about Chris Christie? Chris Christie always wants credit for some shit he's supposed to do. Chris Christie will brag about some shit a normal man just does. Chris Christie will say some shit like, "I nominated a qualified candidate for judge even though he's a Muslim." You're supposed to, you dumb motherfucker! What kind of ignorant shit is that? "I talk with constituents at town halls." What do you want, a cookie?!

Speaking from someone who works in the environmental industry in NJ, he's done a lot to streamline the more obtuse and absurb behaviors of the NJDEP that have left businesses in limbo. There are a ton of areas where the state agencies have dramatically overstepped their statutory powers to create regulations and guidance documents that have undergone no peer review or public comment, have outdated scientific basis, yet still are enforced as law. He's done a lot to push back against that. He's also not afraid to stand up to government employee unions, which is a fight states and municipalities are going to have to have over the next decade as pension obligations and health care costs overtake the money used to accomplish what the government is there to do in the first place
Yes he's an asshole and a bully, but he's also got a lot of good ideas that he's pursuing and he's not afraid of looking bad if his cause is just.

The situation with state employees pensions is massively overblown. The average state employee's pension when they retire works out to $35,000/year. It's not a lot, but it does prevent them from having to live off cans of cat food when they are 75 years old and working as greeters at Walmart to make up the difference. The pension fund would have been perfectly fine too if the current and past few governors didn't constantly raid the funds for their pet projects. They stole billions and billions of dollars from the fund and nobody said anything about it.
Meanwhile, Governor "Share the Sacrifice" gives massive tax cuts to millionaires so they can put the money in their off-shore accounts in the Cayman Islands and go on their fifteenth vacation to Tahiti this year.
