Seems silly to have a new one for each game, so lets just talk shit in here. It doesn't look like the league has match reports this year (Edit: I was wrong). I guess we'll have to depend on tweets and what-not. So if you hear anything, post it.

Update via twitter is that it's 1-1 at halftime.

Atreaga scores, 2-1 RBNY. Heard it was Palsson with the first.
From what I could see it was
Vuolo, Keel, Palsson, Arteaga, Lade, Hertzog, Ballouchy and I could only really guess on the rest. ased on positional you'd think Ruthven, Borrajo, Barklage, and i'd have no idea who the last midfielder would be.

Arteaga-Hertzog-Angulo
Ballouchy-Palsson-Barklage
Lade-Ruthven-Keel-Borrajo I guess.

It's great we play a different way in our resreve games than our real team. Just shows me none of these guys will be on the big boy team anyytime soon.Ah so its 4-3-3 with all our young strikers up top.

Although that is true, it's probably more of a way to get everyone more actually playing time.

Keel Ballouchy and Palsson has all played legitimate minutes already.
But the strikers? Probably not, no. There's probably a reason for that.

I guess Palsson just blasted a 36 yard goal past Sutton.

I think that's somewhat disingenuous.
First, like we have a history of playing kids under Backe anyway. Hertzog could be playing in a 0-0-10 and he wouldn't see the field for the senior team.
Second, if Petke plays with what he has, and what he has is a 4-3-3, and they win, then fuck it, do that. They'll learn from playing on a team that wins. We all assume that they'd be more ready to step up if they played the same way, but, we've seen Backe move the pieces around the board a lot, and even our 4-4-2 can look different from week to week. I don't really seem the harm here.
Yes, in theory, we'd like to be running some super-structured program where everyone followed the same script, but, Backe doesn't seem to be running an RSL-esque program here. That script makes more of a difference, makes it easier, in the cases when guys are going to step in to start, with say Paulsson stepping in when Tainio gets injured & Rafa is away with the Nats.
However, considering these guys are bench subs more than they are potential starters anyway, in all likelihood 80%+ of the time that these guys play for the senior team, they'll be playing as subs. Whose to say that we aren't putting Angulo or whoever in at the 80th minute, down a goal, when we actually are playing a 4-3-3 trying to catch up? Or bringing in Paulsson to create a 4-5-1 trying to kill a game with a 1 goal lead? Impossible to say, really. Is it more likely that we'd be in a 4-4-2? Probably, but, it's not like we're Barca, trying to get everyone to play in one specific way. Our senior team doesn't play one way all the time, I think it's a lot to ask the kids to replicate a blueprint that doesn't really exist.
So, that's a long way of saying I think people spend way too much time worrying about formation. Let them play, let them win....it's on Backe to fit their skills into the senior team as he sees fit.
