The G's Are Gellin'!

Posted Image

But before we test ourselves against the league leaders, we must first dance through more minefields of manure.

Now, it's the embarrassment that is Toronto that is in town to face our G's.

TFC is in MLS true; but, they are not in our league.

I know, I know, we started off the year with that CCL shit sandwich but, this weekend... Victory shall be ours.

On top of it all, It's old skool night at the HDC and the 2002 Championship Galaxy team will be feted. Wear your Green & Gold, bring your Budweiser and party like it's nearly 1999.

Although I have already predicted a win, there are still a few questions in my mind:

1. How will Becks and Chip link up in the midfield?
2. Will the Sarvas & Juni "good cop/bad cop" show stay on?
3. Will The Colonel's psyche remain intact?
4. Will Mike Magee be Bad Ass off the bench?
5.  Will the BVSC be smothered by a giant soccer ball again?
6. Will AJ De La Garza hate me 'cause I'm from Fullerton?

I don't know.

And, I also couldn't have fathomed while watching all alone that day... way back in the time before time... when The Galaxy finally became Champions after years of frustration... that I'd be sucked into this thing as deep as I am today.

Go Galaxy!

Cobi... Cobi Jones...

TFC has not won a match since 08/01/2012 against CD Aguila. Since then they are 0-5-3 with GF 8 and GA 13. To say they are playing like shit is an understatment. With that said, I do not like desperate teams. Kocic has endured an onslaught of shots and his 1.77 GAA is reflective of that. Keeping tabs on Ryan Johnson, Luis Silva and Danny Koevermans is paramount. TFC are having a major morale issues. It's a match like this that the G's should strike early and not let up.

Old School G's up, Reds down 4-0

Let's do this! Oh yeah!!!

Does TFC have any decent players? All that is coming to mind right not is that Frings guy. I liked the G's line up against Colorado. Insert Lando, David Beckham, and co... chemistry? I just want those three points.

Luis Silva occasionally gets points for my fantasy team.

I just want those three points.

This.

C'mon, Gs, make Omar your third DP already!

All this excitement about the G's recent run of good play is a chance to remind ourselves that according to "real" soccer fans, our happiness is illegitimate.

If we were playing in a real soccer league, meaning one with a single table champion, we would have been eliminated from realistic contention months ago, and tonight would just another meaningless game in a season filled with meaningless games.

Darn.

I hope we win.

The battle for the coveted "Champions League" spots? Making sure Toronto gets relegated giving us more incentive to win? The sheer joy of beating a team that knocked us out the Champions League?

There will only be 1 ever meaningless game and that was against Necaxa a few years ago.
