The USA will next play Antigua and Barbuda on Oct 12. I think The Beach Boys left those two places out of their smash radio hit Kokomo. And Mexico will once again play in the States against Guyana at the prestigious University of Phoenix stadium. Mex has played WCQ games in the States before, right? Arizona does not like Mexicans but Mexico loves Arizona.
Post your thoughts and whatnot for the rest of the teams involved in the road to the World Cup.

Why would the US allow this? Why would Concacaf endorse this? I know it's a Guava home game but if they don't have a stadium, they should not be allowed to compete.

Why would the US allow this?

The only reason I can think of is that USSF gets a cut of the take on game day?

And TV too right?

It's no secret that MEX loves playing whatever games they can play in the US because of the increased amount of revenue...

Mex fans in the US have more $$$ than Mex fans in Mexico? Yeah, I think that's what it is. Reading that article grinds my gears. It all comes down to money.

I got this tweet responding to me when I asked about Mexico playin here.

Chris Canetti ‏@ChrisCanetti
@ZeroCool138 Not Mexico's choice. Guyana is the home side. They worked with a promoter to bring their home match to US.

I guess Guyana can make more money playing in the US, too.

C'mon, Gs, make Omar your third DP already!

I'm glad Guyana is going to get a lot of money out of the deal, I'm sure the head of their federation will get a nice new Land Rover out of the deal.

I can imagine other countries making the same choice in the future, at least the smaller ones that have no chance of winning at home anyway. I'm sure Mexico doesn't mind, as it's virtually a home game.

That's why the Concacaf should not allow this type of shit.

Interesting (in the abstract) - what's to stop the Antiguas and Guyanas of CONCACAF, when they're drawn into the US' group, from playing their "home" games in Mexico then? The money wouldn't be as good as it would be in the US, but surely it would be better than in their actual countries. And they could count on having the crowd solidly behind them.

This shit is squishy as hell.

I am 99% certain, based on my god given smarts and the amount of alcohol I drink, that Mexico drove this decision. They know and Guyana knows that Mexico are going to win...so why not play a lucrative game in a market that is defensibly neutral where Guyana can take home a huge paycheck to theoretically build Guyana soccer but actually buy land rover's for all the cronies while Mexico gets to please their fans at the same time?

It is bullshit. CONCACAF sucks.
Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.

This happened in the last cycle too. One of the Caribbean minnows played Mexico in the US - I think it was Houston.

<<checks internets>>

Yep, Mexico was "away" to Belize in Houston on 15 June 2008.

The next week, St. Lucia was "home" to Guatemala at the L.A. Coliseum
