So, when's the play-in game?

According to the league's site, probably Halloween, which of course is a great night to be out driving around.

Now we know for sure we'll be playing Vancouver, though.

C'mon, Gs, make Omar your third DP already!

Oh good! Thanks.

So, we crush the Whitecaps dreams

We eliminate San Jose on their field

We eliminate Seattle (I hope) on their field

The kook kidz on the social media think that we should just pack it in now since, apparently, we're not guaranteed to advance to the Cup Final. Or something.

Me? I dunno - I guess I'll just root for our team.

No comment. Here or anywhere else.

Play-in Wildcard game will be on November 1st; it's a Thursday.
Begin planning trips to go up to San Jose.

Are there any statistics on how often the other team has scored right after we did? Say like within 5 minutes after our goal. Seems like that happens way too much. Are our guys so busy celebrating their goal that they forget that they are still playing?

Soccer refs know the rules, they don't know the game.

Two really important points here.

Be advised.

“As captain, I asked for the ref to speak; for some reason, he wouldn't speak to me,” Keane said. “I was asking him questions. But he was OK when the lads over there [with San Jose] came and spoke to him … questions in Spanish. He'd speak back to them, but I'm sorry, I don't speak Spanish.”

“To be honest, this game wasn't even fun,” said Gonzalez, who didn't like San Jose's physical manner, especially off the ball, after LA let two leads slip away on set pieces. “I think those guys are a bunch of jokes, the way they play the game. It was just obnoxious. And, you know, it wasn't even fun out there. It was terrible.”

The above quote from Keane seems like kind of a big deal.

I thought (wrongly?) that refs in a US league would only speak English on the field.

Hmm...

Edit: Here's the source of the quotes, entitled "Gonzalez: MLS worried about refs' pride, not players' safety". Pretty strong, no?

And here's a little something on the dudes that sit next to original G's firm.
New Raider Nation? Nah.

I'll dare to comment on the situation.

We've all been up to San Jose at some point, and witnessed the absolute ineptitude of their FO employees and security. Anyone remember when they escorted Ultras over to confront us? Or hearing their FO rep says "THIS IS AWESOME" once projectiles started being thrown, and a brawl nearly broke out in front of us? Or the multiple times they entered our section thanks to SJ's negligence? After hearing some things SCPD has said to LARS members in the past, I feel like they actually encourage these types of situations and reward SJ fans by not actually dealing with the agitators. I guess the major difference is that we have no problem getting an audience for our team, and rightly or wrongly SJ's FO is so desperate to nurture their SG because they are almost all they have as far as consistency goes, that they let them do whatever they want.

Those kinds of things should never ever ever happen. You can tell the difference in aptitude and professionalism when it comes to our team's organization and theirs. Whenever we face a rival at home, there are no man's lands that Galaxy fans are not allowed to enter, and we don't(I can only speak for LARS because that's were I have stood) try and push that envelope. This is part and parcel why I have come to despise SJ. Their organization in many ways can be seen as a blight upon the league as a whole. If this keeps up, it will only get worse. I can't speak 100% or even 50% on this recent occurrence, but I can speak from my own experience having been up there multiple times. Much, much worse will occur within the confines of Buckshaw, Stanford Stadium, Oakland Coliseum, and/or this new stadium they are building if San Jose's organization doesn't take any real security measures. It's a joke that anyone can simply walk over and enter an opposing fan's section, ESPECIALLY a rival's supporter section. They're asking for it.

Wondo is like the US version of Chicharito, deadly from 3yds away from goal and that's about it.
